Residential Care Homes For Older People
Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council aim to provide a safe
and secure environment in which an individual’s needs are
recognised and delivered in a caring, flexible and sensitive
manner.
Residential care homes provide personal care, meals and
accommodation to people who are no longer able to look after
themselves.
Is residential care the best option?
Many people find it difficult to cope at home, either through
disability or through increasing frailty with old age. If you are
in this position, there are a range of possibilities which might
make life manageable - long term residential or nursing home care
is only one. Others include:
We are responsible for ensuring residential care is provided for
older people who we have assessed as being unable to manage living
at home or in sheltered housing accommodation.
