Margam Park Train (Narrow gauge railway)
Let the Margam Train take the strain as he takes you on a
journey from the Car Park to the Castle. The route takes you
through the wonderful Margam Park historic landscape. Enjoy
spectacular views beside New Pond as the track runs alongside the
water and over the dam, enjoy the spectacular view across the lake
to the distant Castle and terrace walls as you wind your way to the
castle station. The ‘Margam Train’ is a diesel powered locomotive
and runs on a 24" gauge railway. It has three covered carriages,
each holding 24 people, and there are facilities for wheelchairs to
board the train.
Cost
From 1st April 2009 a one way trip on Margam Train costs
just £1.50 for Adults, £1.00 for Children/OAP and £4.00 for
Families (two adults & two children).
Train Operating Times
Weekends & School Holidays* - Train operates all day from
10am – 4.15pm
School Term Time* - Train operates twice daily at 11am &
1pm
