Circle Games
Duck Duck Goose
- Everyone sit in a circle
- One person is on it, they walk around the outside of the
circle, tapping everyone on the head saying ‘Duck, duck, duck,’
then when they choose someone they tap them on the head saying
‘goose’.
- That person then gets up and chases the person on it around the
circle trying to catch them before they get back to their
space.
- If they catch them the person remains on it.
- If they don’t then the person who is chasing becomes on
it.
Rhythm Master
- Everyone sit in a circle
- Choose 2 people one who is the guesser who turns their back on
the group whilst the rhythm master is chosen.
- The rhythm master then starts doing actions which everyone
follows, for example clapping their hands, clicking their
fingers.
- When everyone is doing the actions the guesser then turns
around and tries to guess who the rhythm master is!
- He/she gets 3 chances to guess, if they guess correctly the
rhythm master then becomes the guesser and a new rhythm master is
chosen.
- If she guesses incorrectly that person can then choose a new
guesser and a new rhythm master.
Sausage
- Everyone sits in a circle.
- The person who is it stands in the center of the circle.
- Each person asks the person who is "it" an appropriate
question. The only answer to every question can be sausage.
- The first person to make the center person laugh wins a try in
the middle.
Example: What color is your hair? Sausage. What do you brush
your teeth with? Sausage.
Wink Murder
- Everyone sit in a circle.
- A detective is chosen who goes away from the group so they
can’t hear or see them.
- Everyone in the circle then closes their eyes, then someone
usually an adult taps one of the children on the head, that child
is then the murderer.
- The detective then stands in the middle of the group.
- The murderer starts killing people by winking at them, if you
are winked at you must die as loudly as you can!
- The detective has 3 chances to guess who the murderer is!
Chinese Whisper
- Everyone sit in a circle.
- One person thinks of something to whisper to the person next to
them.
- They then whisper to the next person what they heard.
- This carries on until it gets back to the person who
started.
- The word is then said out loud to see if it finishes the same
as it started!
Doors & Windows
- Children form a circle holding hands.
- They need to spread out so that everyone’s arms are straight
out, to form large spaces between the children.
- These are the windows and doors.
- Choose one child who starts running and weaving in and out of
the doors and windows.
- As he/she is doing this the children randomly drop their arms
to try and trap the person weaving in and out.
- Once the person is caught or is touched by the arms of someone
they are out.
- They would then choose which person would be next to weave in
and out of the windows and doors
