Neath Port Talbot Health Social Care and Well-Being Strategy

Healthy Lives For All

Over the last 3 years there have been a lot of positive changes in Neath Port Talbot. Waiting times for health and social care services have been reduced, new services to prevent people from going into hospital unnecessarily have been created and there is better support to help people to go home from hospital when they are ready. More people who have a disability or who have poor health have been given help to continue living at home and more services have been put in place to help those with mental health problems. In addition, there has been a reduction in the number of people becoming homeless and our ‘Warm Wales’ project has helped many people to reduce energy bills in their homes.

We want to build on this strong foundation. The second Neath Port Talbot Health Social Care and Wellbeing Strategy has been produced by the Neath Port Talbot Health, Social Care and Wellbeing Partnership. It was published in April 2008. The strategy sets out how we intend to work together to continue to improve health, social care and wellbeing for people of all ages across Neath Port Talbot.

Enquiries about or comments on the Strategy are most welcome. Please contact Deborah Smith, Partnership and Policy Manager, Civic Centre, Port Talbot SA13 1PJ. Tel: 01639 763346, e-mail: d.smith@npt.gov.uk.
