RDP Launch in Neath Port Talbot

The Rural Development Plan was launched in Neath Port Talbot on the 23rd February 2009 at the Dulais Valley Partnership offices in Seven Sisters. The key speakers were the then Leader of Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council, Cllr Derek Vaughan and the Chief Executive of Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council Ken Sawyers.

Cllr Vaughan said "All these projects will make a significant improvement to life in the rural wards of Neath Port Talbot. It will mean more job opportunties, people joining in with environmental work, funding for organisations, and a better transport system. It will also mean we can look at how tourism can bring benefits to rural communities and how we can encourage enrepreneurs to start up local businesses".

During the event, Cllr Vaughan also launched two of the projects – Accommodation Providers Grant Scheme and Y Gronfa Wledig.

The Launch was well attended and was a great networking opportunity.
