Improving Residential Care in Neath Port Talbot

Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council has consulted on a proposal which sets out to improve residential care services for older people.

Current council run residential care home buildings are not fit for purpose, so the services are not as good as they could be. With modern facilities the standard of care and quality of life for residents could be even better. Ensuring that facilities are provided in modern, fit for purpose accommodation would improve privacy and dignity for residents and enable more flexibility in the provision of services.

During the 3 months from 28th January to 30th April 2010, the Council consulted with all interested parties on this proposal.

These pages describe the proposal and explain the background.
