Health and Safety

Welcome to the web pages for Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council’s Health & Safety Enforcement Team.

It is our aim to make the borough a safe place for its residents, for people who work in the borough and for its visitors. We are the team responsible for ensuring that health and safety plays a key role in the operation of businesses that are based in Neath Port Talbot.

Accidents are often the result of poor health and safety management and we aim to ensure that businesses are doing their best to remove/minimise the risk of injuries to the public and employees alike.

Along with the Health and Safety Executive, Neath Port Talbots’ Health and Safety team are responsible for making sure that the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and its associated regulations are followed by employers and their employees. To do this we perform a number of duties:
